Disinfecting the Hydraulic Capillary Infusion System

  1. Empty water chamber and fill with disinfecting solution (Cidex etc).
  2. Connect a 4 or 8 channel catheter to your 4 or 8 channel Infusion System.
  3. Place distal end of catheter in a large catch pan.
  4. Infuse disinfecting solution through all channels for 30 minutes.
  5. Discard remaining solution in the water chamber and rinse with fresh water.
  6. Fill water chamber with (Sterile Water for Irrigation USP) and infuse water through all channels for 30 to 40 minutes.
  7. Disconnect the catheter and dry thoroughly.
  8. All disinfecting solution must be completely flushed out of the Infusion System. Test for any residual disinfecting solution if possible.
